Job Description

Qualifications: Must have or be eligible for a North Dakota teaching license. Appropriate licensure in Mathematics. Background and knowledge in math intervention strategies. Ability to work with students with various academic needs.

Job Goals: The goal of the Math Collaborative Teacher is to work collaboratively with teachers to deliver Tier 1 Math Math Collaborative Teacher collaborates closely with classroom teachers to develop material and lesson plans conducts classroom instruction and evaluates and assesses student performance. The Math Collaborative Teacher works and collaborates with classroom teachers to engage with parents interpret student progress and to further make decisions about effective Tier 1 instruction. The Math Collaboration Teacher collaborates with teachers to address at-risk and vulnerable
students they serve.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborates and plans withteachers to provide Tier 1 direct instruction to students inwhole group individual and/or small group settings.
  • Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievementof the math content standards.
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons units and projects using formal andinformal assessment data obtained from students.
  • Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities.
  • Creates a classroom environment and research-based program of study that isconducive to learning and appropriate to the interests of the students.
  • Conducts student assessments to plan instruction and respond to student needs.
  • Monitor student progress on a regular basis towards achieving instructionalobjectives and goals on the Intervention Plans or IEPs.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and parents.
  • Be familiar with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.

Terms of Employment: 188 days contract


Evaluation: By the Principal at least twice each year in the first three years of service (December 15 & April 15) and at least once each year thereafter (April 15).
