Position:Special Education Teacher for Early Therapeutic ClassroomLocation:Memorial Elementary School (K-2)Schedule:2025-2026 School YearSalary:Per Teachers ContractTo Start:August 25 2025 (plus two mentoring days prior to the start 8/19-8/20) Qualifications:Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher License: Certified Special Education Moderate Disabilities (Prek-8) or Special Education Severe Disabilities (ages 3-22)Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement requiredWorking knowledge of Massachusetts Core-Content Frameworks Special Education Regulations and WIDA StandardsExperience working with students with social/emotional/behavioral disabilities requiredTraining and experience in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI)Solid computer/technology skills with the ability to utilize various computer software and app programs (student databaseL ASPEN X2 Google Suite Ellevation Talking Points iReady etc)Committed to the vision of high expectations for achievement equal access to high levels of instruction the achievement of academic and linguistic proficiency for all students and the closing of the achievement gapSelf-reflective active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school communityPositive and willing to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school lifeTrained in De-escalation (CPI) Duties:Provide a positive structured learning environment for students in need of short-term and long-term supports for demonstration of maladaptive behaviors secondary to an emotional disabilityDifferentiate instruction across all curriculum areas while addressing grade level core-content MA FrameworksLiaison for students on caseloadFacilitate/participate in Team meetingsDevelop implement and consistently monitor goals and objectives as recommended on student IEPsDemonstrate solid classroom management skills and experience with behavior management plansDevelop and implement behavior plansParticipate in monthly clinics with families Administer/interpret variety of diagnostic instrumentsAnalyze all assessment data related to student performance and integrate data to improve instructional practicesAssess strengths and needs of students provide appropriate differentiated instruction and communicate assessment results to parents teachers and administratorsCommunicate regularly with parents/guardians/community agencies to ensure student successConsistently and effectively collaborate with administrators faculty members families and community providers to coordinate clinical academic and family interventionsContinue professional growth through educational meetings visiting related facilities attending conferences and workshops reading professional literature and exchanging ideas among district staffSupervise paraprofessionals as assigned
