Job Description
Summary
The Engineering Manager is under the general direction of the Vice President/General Manger. They are responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop and create solutions to technical problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Engineering Manager duties are the following:
- Supervise and lead engineers and technicians who design and build machinery and tooling.
- Direct and/or coordinate with production quality assurance and maintenance.
- Oversee the research and development of new products procedures and operations.
- Hire train and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.
- Write performance reviews and solve internal issues.
- Discuss and lay out project specifications.
- Make detailed plans to accomplish goals.
- Review approve and modify product design.
- Develop cost estimates for new projects and product designs.
- Negotiate and research contract work and bids.
- Improve manufacturing processes.
- Confer with higher levels of management.

Authority Responsibilities
The Engineering Manager directly supervises engineering and maintenance. They are directly involved in their hiring coaching promoting counseling training budgeting disciplining scheduling directing terminating and measuring their performance. The Engineering Manager interacts with the all levels of employees.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
The educational requirement for this job position is a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering. They must have a minimum of 5 years experience in industrial engineering. Experience may acceptable for education if applicant has successfully held this position previously.
Reasoning Ability
The Engineering Manager must have the ability to multitask. They must be able to coordinate activities and people in order to achieve company goals. The Engineering Manager must contain extensive leadership abilities and remain even tempered. They must be authoritative and able to delegate work appropriately. They must have a well-developed internal definition of integrity in order to be able to make well-rounded decisions.
Job Specifications
The Engineering Manager must be able to quickly cater to the needs and demands of production. They must be meticulous in the efforts to ensure the timing of delivery to customers. They must be able to be organized and efficient in his or her day-to-day operations.
