As a Temporary Payroll Specialist youll play a crucial role in ensuring team members are paid accurately and on timecontributing to both employee satisfaction and organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
As the Temporary Payroll Specialist you will support the accurate and timely processing of payroll ensuring compliance with policies and legislation while providing excellent service to employees and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:
Payroll Administration:
o Process bi-weekly and hourly payrolls in accordance with established timelines and company standards.
o Verify timesheets calculate earnings and deductions and ensure accuracy in payroll transactions.
Compliance & Reporting:
o Maintain accurate payroll records in compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
o Prepare and distribute payroll reports records of employment (ROEs) and year-end documentation such as T4s.
Systems & Process Management:
o Utilize payroll software and internal systems to input track and audit employee data.
o Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve discrepancies and enhance payroll processes.
Employee Support & Communication:
o Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll benefits and timekeeping policies.
o Provide clear timely and respectful communication to foster trust and understanding across teams.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:
Education & Experience:
o A diploma or certificate in Payroll Administration Accounting or a related field is preferred.
o 24 years of experience in payroll processing preferably within the construction or industrial sector.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in ADP and Workforce Now.
o Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or ERP systems.
Key Competencies:
o Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
o A proactive solutions-oriented mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
