River Valley Community College Fulltime - Claremont Campus - Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state.
SCOPE OF WORK: Supervises grounds building maintenance and/or other facilities staff performs various maintenance functions and coordinates various grounds or facilities projects. This position reports to the Facilities Manager at River Valley Community College (RVCC).
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associates degree from a recognized college or technical institute in building construction facility management landscaping or a building trade or technical training/education equivalency.
Experience: Three (3) years experience in landscaping and/or general maintenance work including one year of supervisory experience. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of education.
License/Certification: Valid drivers license.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule and/or to change hours during any special or emergency event to support college activities that exceed normal operating hours and to adjust work schedule to meet college requirements. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and is subject to all its provisions.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Extensive knowledge of tools materials and practices and knowledge of the hazards of the trade. Skill in the use and maintenance of power and hand tools. Ability to layout assign and supervise the work of facilities staff. Ability to read and work from plans as well as from oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to exercise professional judgment in the performance of job duties. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to perform physical demands required for this position. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
