Salary:$25000-$25500(based on experience)

Maine Coast Semester at Chewonki is a transformative place-based academic program for high-achieving high school juniors from across the country.Set on a 400-acre saltwater peninsula in midcoast Maine the semester combines rigorous college-preparatory academics with hands-on environmental learning outdoor adventure and community living. Design dynamic lessons and projects that connect Spanish language learning tonature culture and community.
Provide personalized academic support beyond the classroom.

This Position Requires:
In-person presenceon our beautifulcoastal campus in Wiscasset Maine.
Active participation in aclose-knit communitysharing meals ideas and responsibilities.
Commitment tosafety inclusivity and restorative practices.
ABachelors degreein Spanish or a related field (Masters preferred).
At least3 years of classroom teaching experience includingdeliveringSpanish languageinstruction to a diverse student population.
Must completefingerprinting requirements/pass criminal background checkwith the Maine Department of Education prior to the start of employment.
Valid drivers license and driving record approved by Chewonkis Insurance Carrier.
Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
Creativity flexibility and a student-centered approach to teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:First Aid Lifeguard or WFR certifications and familiarity with restorative practices.
