ResponsibilitiesThis position supports SW Global Security. The incumbent will plan and execute the strategic direction of global travel security across all regions and will complete executive protection projects as needed around the globe. This position will interact directly with Executive Leadership to identify and develop best practices and solutions to ensure the safety and security of Sherwin-Williams employees sites and operations. Responsibilities include collecting analyzing and disseminating risk intelligence and risk assessments to Executive Leadership and the Sr Director of Global Security LP and Intelligence for existing and new markets. This position will direct appropriate SW and third-party resources to enable the successful travel of SW employees including regional Executive Leadership to all risk-category destinations (low to extreme) as position will contribute to Sherwin-Williams business objectives by helping to manage and mitigate exposure to internal and external threats so that business activities and travel may continue without disruption and to safeguard the SW corporate name and business reputation.
Because this role involves access to confidential financial information the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Utilizes various third-party risk intelligence services and platforms to collect analyze and identify significant security risks around the globe. Shares findings with Sr Director of Global Security SW personnel and Executive Leadership in a timely manner.
- Implements strategies and initiatives associated with SW crisis management and business continuity efforts. Provides a lead as directed by the Sr Director of Global Security to monitor and provide ongoing updates to current events and regional/global incidents.
- Directs employee and Executive Protection (EP) travel services programs.
- Monitors current and scheduled global employee business travel for possible security natural disaster or health-related disruptions. Implements a proactive approach to deter any identified travel-related issues.
- Coordinates with third-party handlers to repatriate travelers involved in emergencies.
- Assists in security and logistics planning for major corporate meetings and market visits both US and international to ensure a safe environment.
- Directs and oversees the delivery of EP services at select high risk/hostile international destinations.
- Completes country/destination travel risk reviews to identify and reduce security-related vulnerabilities; reports findings and makes cost-effective recommendations to improve overall procedures.
- Collects and maintains company-specific destination information for dissemination on SWs Global Assistance intranet portal.
- Interfaces directly with third-party client relations personnel to ensure PNR travel record feeds are current and updated on a regular basis.
- Maintains ongoing relationship with third-party global assistance partners.
- Supports all SW business units by developing and presenting Awareness and Training programs. Facilitates international travel security training sessions upon request by new travelers and/or recurring refresher training for experienced SW travelers and business units.
- Assist in the development and recommendations regarding senior leadership residential protection devices and training.
- Conducts on-site security evaluations/advances surveys and reviews to reduce security vulnerabilities that could result in financial loss to the Company.
- Support the companies Enterprise Crisis Response Plan Aviation Incident Response Plan and other safety/emergency management programs as directed.
- Develop implement and conduct employee training sessions in the areas of loss prevention safety and operational issues.
- Determine the level and adequacy of security and safety systems to be utilized for the protection of company assets and personnel.
- Selection of security and safety equipment vendors.
- Final authority on new hires terminations and assignment of personnel.
- Manages a diverse staff of 4.
QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- BA BS or equivalent or 15 years of experience leading a companywide executive protection and travel safety/security program.
Preferred:
- Formal military law enforcement or private sector experience with a focus on terrorism/counterterrorism training.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Ability to speak read and understand English. Bilingual a plus but not required.
- Able to work and maintain an environment of confidentiality including exposure to company sensitive information. This may include restricted level data.
- Ability to obtain a federal government security clearance of Secret or Top Secret through DHS or DOJ. Ability to adhere to classified document control.
- Knowledge of physical and electronic security practices to include: access control surveillance & countersurveillance systems CPTED visitor management controls
- Significant experience in corporate security military or government services.
- Knowledge and history of providing and overseeing the delivery of executive protection services preferably at high risk/hostile international destinations.
Preferred:
- Experience in information gathering and business travel security risk analysis loss prevention programs and investigations as well as emergency planning and crisis response. Experience supporting multi-site multi-country operations and a strong training background are preferred.
- Member of Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) and/or FBI InfraGard.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- OSAC membership (if not a current member willingness to become one)
- Working knowledge of Security and safety equipment including access control systems evacuation systems and emergency response systems.
- Interviewing and investigating skills and certifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with subordinates executive level management board members and professional level positions
