ICLA has an exciting leadership position available at our residence in Strathfield engaging and inspiring a diverse team of support workers in a hands-on role working directly with ICLA residents with psychosocial disabilities. You will be responsible for running the house and providing person-centred active support and trauma-informed care to ICLA residents together with your team. You will be a champion and role model of our ICLA values and purpose.
Identify consumers goals through a person-centred approach and assist your team to enable consumers working towards achieving their goals

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our House Leaders are responsible for leading a group of support workers and managing the operations of their designated residential site ensuring the needs of the individuals we support are met. Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) residences provide 24/7 service to 3 or 4 residents to support them in their daily living building their capacity and independence. This role is working office hours Monday to Friday with a minimum of 4 days onsite and remuneration commences from $85000 per annum (SCHADS Level 4) Leave loading Super NFP Salary Packaging. Key Responsibilities:
Managing an engaged and diverse team of 6-8 support workers including performance and development rostering WHS and recruitment
Building the capacity social skills & independent living skills of ICLA residents using your creativity and solution focus to create the best outcomes
Overseeing implementation of high-quality resident support plans & weekly planners (including IPRPs) & monitoring & reporting on the progress of clients
Building rapport & managing complex mental health & behaviours following established plans
Participating in a rotating On-Call roster (paid allowance)
Ensuring the smooth running of the site and promoting an inclusive homely environment through consistent practice & collaboration with staff & residents.

ABOUT YOU
You are motivated and experienced in managing the competing demands of a busy environment working towards deadlines and maintaining attention to detail. You have highly developed communication skills and the ability to inspire staff and internal/external stakeholders while thinking outside the box to ensure our practices are future-proof. You have sound experience with complex mental health challenging behaviour and want to make a difference in peoples lives.
Required criteria:
Cert 4 or above in Mental Health Disability Support or a similar field
Demonstrated experience with complex mental health & behaviours in residential services mental health or psychosocial disability roles
Experienced applying person-centred active support and the principles of resident choice and control a recovery-oriented trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to service delivery
Demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring small diverse team(s) to deliver best outcomes for our residents
Excellent stakeholder and consumer engagement skills and experience building trust & rapport with people from all backgrounds
Experience in conflict management de-escalation incident management and prevention.
Knowledge & understanding of NDIS code of conduct and NDIS scheme including Supported Independent Living and Individual Living Options
Proven organisational skills including managing competing priorities to deliver results
Proven critical thinking solution-focused focus and risk assessment skills
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to implementing professional boundaries
Empathy patience adaptability and using their creativity to influence outcomes
Current drivers license NDIS check and First Aid or willingness to obtain
Desirable:
Mental Health First Aid certificate
