As an Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) you will be the central point of contact for coordinating all maintenance activities that ensure the reliability and optimal performance of equipment and assets in your assigned area. While coordinating work and setting the priorities you are the one identifying the urgency and the one who decides what gets done when.This role is ideal for someone who thrives on communication planning and fast-paced collaboration between maintenance operations and reliability teams.

A Day in the Life

Your day will start with reviewing maintenance priorities and planning meetings where your insights will guide the coordination of scheduled and unplanned maintenance work. Youll be the bridge between operations and maintenanceensuring that maintenance is performed safely effectively and without unnecessary delays.

Safety/Housekeeping:

  • Coordinates required housekeeping for maintenance work
  • Communicates safety/housekeeping issues and opportunities at planning and scheduling meetings
  • Coordinates lockouts and permitting of equipment for maintenance work
  • Coordinates required permits for confined space entry hot work and excavation

Communications:

  • Communicates directly with operations to eliminate delays with starting scheduled maintenance work
  • Communicates directly with maintenance in the prioritization of unplanned work within the backlog scheduled
  • Communicates with maintenance in the prioritization of work that impacts scheduled maintenance
  • Communicates directly with maintenance supervisors in the scheduling of work that has been planned and is ready to schedule (i.e. Tuesday planning meeting)
  • Communicates directly with maintenance supervisors in the execution of work
  • Proactive agent that engages routinely with maintenance operations engineering and reliability (i.e. vibration reports) to identify opportunities for improvement.

Assists in managing the maintenance workflow:

  • Reviews and screens all work requests to see that the requester has provided the required information such as
    • Equipment ID
    • Problem Description
    • Priority
  • Identifies work requests that require a Management of Change review and approval
  • Identifies work requests that can and should be handled by shift operations / maintenance
  • Verifies work requests that require an equipment shutdown (area or turnaround)
  • Approves or rejects all work requests
  • Communicates back to requester the rationale for rejecting a work request. Except in the case of a duplicate work request.
  • Assists in reviewing break-in work orders to assess the true priority
  • Directs the scheduling of break-in work that is not an immediate emergency
  • Coordinates work execution between operations and maintenance
  • Responsible for adjusting priorities of scheduled work in progress to execute emergency or break-in work
  • Assists with the development implementation and documentation of the Preventive Maintenance program including Essential Operator Care

Work Scheduling:

  • Participates in all Planning Scheduling and Optimization (PS&O) meetings
    • Daily schedule updates weekly scheduling meetings (Tuesday & Thursday) backlog reviews and shutdown planning
  • Assures that Preventive Maintenance (PM) is the top priority activity on work schedules
  • Communicates and coordinates all scheduled maintenance activities with operations shift supervisors specialists and other affected people
  • Participates in all Shutdown activities

The salary range for this position is: $108000.00-$135000.00
