Job Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Weld & Mechanical I/Polymer Testing Technician I are assisting specialist in conducting analysis and sample preparation. Technicians also conduct some routine tests that require some data interpretation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct sample preparation and assist in performing tests.
• Perform maintenance of the lab equipment
• Update chemical and equipment inventories
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education/Experience

• High School or AA in Science
• 0-3 years experience in a material testing laboratory environment

Necessary Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills
• Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) maintain Lab ISO and process Safety procedures.

• Work is performed mostly in a lab setting. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand walk use hands to finger handle feel or operate objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift objects up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distant vision color vision peripheral vision and depth perception.
