At The Childrens Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) we provide transformative person-centered education and services for deaf and/or disabled individuals in a language-rich inclusive setting. We are seeking a dedicated and highly trained Curriculum Coordinator to join our team. The BSD Curriculum Coordinator works collaboratively with classroom teachers teaching assistants and related service providers to plan design and oversee the delivery of curriculum for students with a range of communication challenges ages 321. This role also provides consultative and direct support for teachers throughout the MCAS-Alt process.
Collaborate with classroom teams on implementation of educational programming including IEPs and lesson plans
Meet regularly with teachers and staff to support programming and student needs
Evaluate lesson plans and encourage varied instructional strategies and assessments
Ensure alignment with MA Curriculum Frameworks and unit planning
Support teachers in IEP goal and objective development
Maintain and update CCCBSDs curriculum materials and resource library
Research and recommend new curriculum materials as needed
Provide curriculum-related training to staff
Coordinate bilingual education training and MCAS-Alt process for assigned classrooms
Oversee MCAS-Alt logistics including materials entry points and editing submissions
Consult with staff on classroom assessment tools and evaluation processes
Organize and oversee the communication and submission process for the annual Marie Jean Philips competition (as appropriate for assigned classrooms)
Serve as a resource to other departments in ASL and English usage development (as appropriate for assigned classrooms)
Participate in professional development and school initiatives
Masters degree in Special Education Deaf Education Curriculum Development or related field
Massachusetts Educator License required
35 years of experience directly related to curriculum leadership or instructional coordination
ASL proficiency required
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Understanding of Deaf/HH culture and inclusive instructional practices
Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and support a safe school environment
Ability to foster a supportive student-centered learning environment
Experience serving as a role model and leader within instructional teams

This position is based on our school campus and involves classroom observation collaboration with staff and occasional lifting of curriculum materials. Participation in emergency preparedness drills is required. Reasonable accommodations will be made to ensure accessibility and success in the role.
