Position Summary & Purpose:The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the full scope of HR functions to ensure alignment with Cincinnati Incorporateds strategic goals and culture. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support in the areas of employee relations performance management recruitment compliance benefits administration and employee development.
Working closely with leadership and employees across departments the Senior HR Generalist serves as a trusted advisor and resource to foster a high-performance employee-focused culture. This role ensures the consistent application of policies and practices champions continuous improvement in HR processes and contributes to key initiatives including workforce planning employee engagement and organizational development. The Senior HR Generalist also plays a key part in upholding our core values and advancing a positive work environment across both union and non-union employee populations.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key point of contact for employee relations providing guidance and resolution support on performance conduct and workplace issues in alignment with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Manage and support the full employee lifecycle including onboarding performance management internal mobility and offboarding.
  • Partner with department leaders to implement effective workforce strategies talent development plans and organizational change initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal state and local employment laws including FMLA ADA FLSA and EEOC regulations.
  • Administer and support HR processes such as annual performance reviews compensation planning promotions and succession planning.
  • Assist in administering benefit programs and serve as a liaison for employees with benefit questions or concerns.
  • Support union-related activities by maintaining accurate records assisting in contract interpretation and participating in labor-related discussions where applicable.
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team to support job postings candidate screening interviewing and new hire orientation.
  • Analyze HR data and trends to provide insights and recommend proactive solutions to improve workplace culture retention and engagement.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for managers and employees on HR-related topics such as policy updates harassment prevention and performance management.
  • Participate in internal audits documentation and process improvements to support HR compliance and operational excellence.
Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of federal state and local employment laws and regulations (e.g. FMLA FLSA ADA Title VII).
  • Knowledge of HR best practices in employee relations compensation benefits and organizational development.
  • Familiarity with union environments collective bargaining agreements and labor relations (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms performance management systems and applicant tracking systems.
  • Understanding of payroll processing and benefits administration concepts (basic to intermediate level).
  • Knowledge of compliance and documentation standards including personnel file management and audit readiness.
Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to interpret data and make sound decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution coaching and facilitating difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation reporting and compliance.

Work Environment:
  • This position operates in a professional office environment within a manufacturing company.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets.
  • The employee may occasionally need to walk through or attend meetings in a manufacturing or shop-floor environment and should be able to tolerate exposure to typical industrial conditions including moderate noise dust and temperature fluctuations.
  • The work is generally performed during standard business hours with occasional extended hours or flexibility required to meet business needs.
