Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Supervisor for Ontario within the Environment Ecology and Permitting Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for team management and will demonstrate a Manager Mindsetbalancing delivering excellent work while supporting the team. In this role you will build productive networks across diverse technical teams create an inclusive workplace and provide opportunities for team members to reach their full potential ensuring the teams success. You will operate with ethics and integrity prioritizing quality outcomes and team safety.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop manage and oversee all staff and projects for those directly reporting to this position.
  • Coordinate manage and direct project fieldwork and data collection efforts.
  • Develop manage and implement business strategy and tactics high-quality proposals interdisciplinary teams and deliverables.
  • Promote a culture of high-quality work and Health & Safety within the team.
  • Collaborate with other AECOM offices practices and business lines.
  • Oversee recruiting interviewing and orienting new team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance.
  • Manage team billable hours and forecast utilization requirements.
  • Set strategic team goals aligned with the environmental business line and evaluate outcomes.
  • Motivate and inspire the team while facilitating career development and growth.
  • Communicate job expectations to staff.
  • Foster a safe inclusive and productive work environment.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff.

In addition to management responsibilities you will also complete technical work in your area of expertise and collaborate with other business lines to cross-sell IAP services to clients.


Qualifications :

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Biology Ecology Natural Resources Wetlands Soils or a related earth science field 6  years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred:

  • 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational management skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-driven hardworking and motivated.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Work experience in environmental consulting with technical expertise in an environmental discipline such as aquatics vegetation wildlife soils reclamation or permitting.
  • Previous experience managing a technical team.
