Job Summary
The Director of Womens Services supports the Labor and Delivery Unit Postpartum and Nursery/NICU Units. The Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. The Director is accountable for high-quality safe and appropriate nursing care competency of clinical staff and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
This leader will assume 24/7 responsibility for assisting in assessing planning coordinating implementing and evaluating nursing practice on each unit. The Director will supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel and provide clinical leadership and set strategic and long-term goals for the nursing staff. The Director will assess performance objectives for each nursing unit and organize coordinate develop and review policies procedures and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory compliance and quality care standards. The Director is responsible for the quality of care operational and financial efficiency (budgeting) of the nursing unit along with the patient experience. The Director will lead and professionally develop the nursing staff within the unit providing performance goals feedback and development opportunities. In addition the Director is responsible for recruitment hiring and training of personnel and will chair committees as assigned. May provides direct care as needed.
Role assumes 24/7 responsibility for the Directors assigned areas. Responsibilities:
Active and current Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina.
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.
Ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.

Frye Regional Medical Center located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.
Essential Functions
Develops and implements departmental goals plans and standards consistent with the clinical administrative legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organizations. Directs and evaluates departmental operations including patient care delivery information technologies service level determination and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities including hiring orienting evaluating disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives. Prepares monitors and evaluates departmental budgets and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Adheres to professional standards hospital policies and procedures federal state and local requirements and the TJC standards and or standards from other accrediting bodies.

Minimum Education
Bachelors Degree from recognized college or university required (BSN preferred); Masters Degree highly preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
BLS required
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required
Licenses: Current NC RN licensure.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 5 years RN experience
Minimum 2 years management experience preferred.
