The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and co-ordinating financial information that supports strategic decision-making. This role requires a keen eye for detail strong analytical skills and the ability to collate interpret and communicate complex data in a clear and actionable manner. Additionally the candidate will be adept at collaborating finance and non-finance people and fostering promoting a productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide financial management technical and business planning advice training and support.
Provide advice and present financial information and reports to senior managers and boards.
Support the business reporting managers on integrated financial and performance reporting for the organisation.
Ensure the services financial management and internal control arrangements are effective and support the development of plans to address weaknesses.
Work with the strategic finance managers business reporting managers financial analysts internal audit and other colleagues in the Council as required to establish comprehensive support arrangements to meet client and corporate needs in all areas.
Support the development of plans to underpin the delivery of the Medium-Term Financial Plan.
Support the review of major projects and key decisions and verify the effectiveness of management arrangements.
Line management of finance professionals within the team.

This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern:

37 hours per week Monday - Friday (but can consider flexible working options such as compressed hours part-time or hybrid working).

What youll need to succeed:

Essential skills and Knowledge

Qualifications & Experience: You are a qualified accountant (CCAB with a recognised UK institute) with significant relevant experience in financial accounting and experience of managing teams to deliver successful outcomes
Financial Planning: You have a strong understanding of medium-term financial planning and the provision of accurate and strategic financial advice.
Organisational skills: You are able to co-ordinate work across teams to ensure efficient and effective financial advice. Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.

Communication & Collaboration:

Clear Communication and presenting information: You excel at explaining complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner to non-financial managers.
Coaching and mentoring: You foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Relationship Building & collaboration: You have proven ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and external partners.
