TheHealth Consumers Centre (the Centre) isa part of the Deakin Institute for Health Centre aims to enable and improve the engagement of communities and people with lived experience within health and related sectors. As Manager Innovation and Service Development for the Health Consumers Centre you will:
- Contribute to growing and diversifying the funding base through consultancy fee-for-service activities (with government health services research institutes NGOs) research grants philanthropy membership models and strategic partnerships.
- Lead the development of new service offerings and packages in response to emerging needs and opportunities.
- Coordinate the development of proposals including gathering inputs drafting content and managing timelines in partnership with the Business Development team.
- Manage and optimise systems and tools such as Smartsheet to support business pipeline management stakeholder engagement project management process efficiency and inform routine monitoring and periodic reporting.
- Lead the collaborative development of critical systems platforms infrastructure policies processes and tools to support consumer and community engagement practice in line with the Centres strategic priorities.
In a typical day/week you will:
- Proactively engage with diverse stakeholders analyse complex issues evaluate multiple options and negotiate effectively while valuing and integrating a range of perspectives.
- Evaluate progress adapt to changing priorities and overcome obstacles to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Leading strategic projects to develop and improve the platforms systems and tools that support the Centres engagement practice and operations
- Foster collaboration by integrating diverse perspectives forming ethical mutually beneficial partnerships and building shared goals to exchange knowledge and co-create solutions
To be successful youll have:
- Post-graduate qualifications and experience in working with people across the health and related sectors to develop research and/or consultancy service funding proposals or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and/or training.
- A track record of successful business development and stakeholder engagement including securing funding through consultancy grants philanthropy or partnerships in sectors such as government health or research.
- Proven ability to design and implement service offerings including experience with costing models pricing strategies and coordinating proposal development for a range of funding sources.
- Sound knowledge of the health funding landscape (research government NGO-initiated) and assessment of research and/or consultancy proposal quality and competitiveness.
- Well-developed communication advocacy negotiation and relationship management skills including the ability to liaise with academics and colleagues at all levels and advocacy for the Centre the Institute for Health Transformation and the Facultys capabilities.
