Job Description

DEPARTMENT: Nursing

REPORTS TO: Sr. Nurse Administrator

SALARY: $ 1500.00 stipend position

SCHEDULE:To be arranged with the Nursing Administration in accordance with contract requirements. This is a stipend position for work done during and outside of the scheduled workday.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

A qualified school nurse that is responsible for leading and supporting an assigned team of school nurses. This role involves providing effective guidance fostering a collaborative work environment and ensuring high standards of care within the nursing department. The team leader will oversee extended day operations manage team performance and serve as the primary point of contact for team members. Strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of the school nurses role are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive leadership promote positive team dynamics and set a professional example to inspire and engage others in achieving departmental goals.

DUTIES:

  1. Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  2. Set clear team goals aligning with department and district goals.
  3. Set deadlines and follow-up for monitoring health office data and nursing goals for team.
  4. Implement the operations of extended day team meetings. Extended day meetings held per contract.
  5. Attend mandatory monthly meetings as arranged by nurse administration before or after scheduled workday.
  6. Monitor team performance goals tasks and provide monthly reporting on metrics for the team.
  7. Motivate team members.
  8. Discover training needs and provide coaching. Suggest and organize activities to meet the teams educational needs goals projects and initiatives.
  9. Listen to team members feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  10. Recognize the high performance of team members.
  11. Encourage creativity.
  12. Communicate any issues to nursing administration.
  13. Support the orientation of newly hired nurses through peer training and mentoring.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • DESE licensed school nurse. Initial accepted professional preferred
  • Proficient in computer applications with strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Decision-making skills
