Job Description

Hotel Grand Chancellor Brisbane is currently seeking a Full time Accounts Officer to join our Accounts department. This opportunity will be for Accounts Receivable.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Check all invoices for accuracy of postings and direct billing charges. Verify rates as per contracts.
  • Receive daily payments reconcile and apply to correct account through cash payments. Follow up any discrepancies. Incorrect commission rates etc.
  • Review of Delinquent Account periodically while exercising every effort to effect collection.
  • Check all House Accounts rebates and miscellaneous income.
  • Ensure that Statements of Accounts are sent out at the close of each period.
  • Co-ordinate and process credit card transactions and subsequent collection of funds.
  • Investigate and respond to all telephone enquiries/disputes received regarding Debtor Accounts.
  • To co-ordinate and process the income audit tasks on a daily basis and ensure that the revenue of the Hotel is accurate and recorded on a timely basis.
  • To ensure that internal controls are in place in the Hotel.
  • Handle and Safeguard Petty Cash for admin dept.
  • Prepare and submit period end reports as directed.
  • Review and audit functions final billing prior to sending to clients
  • Audit accuracy of daily balances of outlet revenue reconciled by Night Auditor including food and beverage revenue telephones laundry etc. Prepare necessary reconciliation worksheets where required.
  • Assist in auditing and counting daily cash drops for banking balancing cash banking to HMS reports and balance hotel cash position to Trial Balance.
  • Identify discrepancies from Night Auditors package rectify and discuss errors with front office or the night team..
  • Audit and assist in preparing required worksheet for income audit and posting of daily journal where required.
  • Monitor group/guest billing instructions and guest credit for accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.
  • Liaise with Night Audit ensuring paperwork is completed and rebates are kept to a minimum.
