Job Description

Job Title: Curriculum Coordinator Early Years & Secondary

Location: Uganda

Reporting To: Head of School / Academic Director


Job Purpose

To lead coordinate and support the planning development implementation and evaluation of the curriculum across Early Years and Secondary levels ensuring academic excellence and alignment with international standards.


Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development & Implementation

  • Oversee and support the effective implementation of the Cambridge curriculum for Early Years and Secondary levels.

  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure appropriate schemes of work lesson plans and assessments are in place.

  • Regularly review and update curriculum documents to reflect best practices and current developments in education.

  • Ensure progression and continuity across the key stages.


Academic Oversight

  • Monitor academic performance and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Lead internal audits of teaching and learning practices to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Coordinate school-wide assessments including checkpoint exams and internal mocks.

  • Teacher Support & Professional Development

  • Provide mentorship coaching and guidance to teaching staff.

  • Organize and lead professional development sessions aligned with the Cambridge framework.

  • Conduct lesson observations and provide constructive feedback to improve instructional quality.


Parental Engagement & Communication

  • Support parent-teacher conferences and curriculum information sessions.

  • Provide academic reports and updates to parents regarding student progress and curriculum changes.

  • Leadership & Administration

  • Work collaboratively with school leadership to align curriculum goals with the overall school vision.

  • Contribute to school improvement plans accreditation processes and policy development.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of curriculum documents academic reports and staff development.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Education or a related field (Master s degree preferred).

  • Cambridge curriculum training/certification is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching and/or curriculum coordination within the Cambridge system.

  • Proven experience in Early Years and Secondary education.


Skills and Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum structure assessment and pedagogy.

  • Excellent leadership interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate teachers and students.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Passion for academic excellence and continuous improvement.
