With the continued growth of our services we are seeking casual Disability Support Workers who are able to bring their passion creativity and enthusiasm to the role looking for a rewarding career in supporting our participants to achieve their goals.
As a casual Disability Support Worker you will work within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services across Goulburn which will involve carrying out day-to-day responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Assisting participants with domestic duties and meal preparation including cooking and cleaning.
- Supporting participants in attending appointments and social community events.
- Assisting with personal care such as showering toileting and dressing.
- Administering and organising medication in line with protocols.
- Providing active support by engaging in activities with participants that promote skill-building and are goal-focused.
- Ensuring documentation is kept up-to-date through client notes and incident reporting.
What do I need to succeed in the role
As the successful candidate for the role you will ideally have availability to work a range of shifts across a 24/7 roster which includes mornings afternoons evenings and overnights. You will have a genuine desire to provide high-quality supports to people with disability and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to liaise with participants and their families/carers.
The ability to navigate computer systems and complete documentation with an understanding of privacy and confidentiality will be highly regarded. If successful you will be required to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (WWC) cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check Covid-19 Vaccination record with at least two doses current Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle.
