Job Description

- Up to $133.80/Hour including Superannuation
Our client a large Government organisation are seeking a Facilities Technician to join their team.
This role will assist in the management of data centres communications rooms and all associated infrastructure currently managed by the ICT Facilities Infrastructure and Operations team ensuring the timely response and rectification work of all activities in accordance with relevant service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the data centres and communications facilities infrastructure.
- Assist with the design and implementation of data centres communications rooms and the ICT infrastructure supporting these environments.
- Manage and maintain the enterprise uninterruptible power supply (UPS) fleet air conditioning and generators relating to communications rooms across facilities.
- Undertake and supervise daily operational and environmental checks of data centres and ICT facilities including maintaining team procedural documentation.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of server room / data center and communications ICT infrastructure including security and environmental controls power uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units generators air conditioning and structured data cabling.
- An understanding of the in the design and implementation of data centres communications rooms and ICT infrastructure.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of backup and data recovery procedures including storage media management.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in using data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) systems monitoring and/or data backup and restoration products would be advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework would be desirable.
On offer is a contract until December 242025 with a strong possibility of an extension at a highly sought after Government organisation with a highly competitive hourly rate.
