Job Description

POSITION #163-CLS-05-25:

BehaviorInterventionist

Special Education

6.5 hours per day /191 days per year 8 days

Salary: $29.71 - $32.10 per hour

DESCRIPTION: The Behavior Interventionist plays a vital role in supporting students with disabilities by implementing behavior intervention plans collaborating with special education teams and maintaining a positive learning environment. This position requires patience adaptability and a commitment to fostering student success through structured behavioral support. Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the guidance of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and special education teacher. Model and assist in implementing behavior management techniques with special education teams. Provide direct support to students with challenging behaviors while maintaining a calm and neutral demeanor. Understand and support the unique needs of students with disabilities ensuring appropriate interventions and strategies.Assist in the creation of visual aids social stories and other materials to support behavior plans. Collect and track data on student behaviors interventions and progress. Work collaboratively with teachers staff and related service providers to ensure consistency in behavioral strategies. Remain patient and professional in high-stress situations responding to challenging behaviors with composure. Attend and participate in district-provided trainings to enhance knowledge of behavior management techniques. Follow all plans and directions provided by the BCBA and special education team to ensure fidelity in behavior plan implementation. Perform other duties as assigned to support student success.

QUALIFICATIONS:Experience working with students with disabilities and/or behavioral challenges preferred. Strong ability to remain calm neutral and professional in difficult situations. Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with teams. Highly organized with strong data-tracking skills. Willingness to learn and follow behavior plans with fidelity.

260 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave 2 personal leave days 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.

Tuition reimbursement 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.

In addition a background check based on fingerprints will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
