Job Description
Trinity Christian College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Biology beginning August 2025.
Qualifications:
The Department of Natural Sciences is seeking a doctorally-trained biologist with expertise in anatomy and physiology. While a Ph.D. is preferred other doctoral degrees would be considered. Those with terminal degrees in health-related fields would also be considered. Experience in college-level teaching and scholarship is desired. A Masters degree is required.
Trinity seeks faculty candidates who are professing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching scholarship and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline the vocational preparation of their students and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside of the classroom through faculty-mentored research advising and other settings. Trinity particularly welcomes applications from candidates who have professional or personal narratives that reflect diverse perspectives as well as those who have engaged with issues relevant to preparing students to work and live with intercultural competence and compassion.
Responsibilities:
This is a 9-month tenure-track faculty role. Primary responsibilities include teaching Trinitys two-semester series of Anatomy and Physiology courses as well as other courses that serve the department and college needs and align with the area of expertise of the successful candidate.
All faculty participate at Trinity in faculty governance and are expected to pursue a healthy scholarly and research agenda. In their first year new faculty participate in a year-long formation program that begins with a three-day institute in August.
About the Department:
The Natural Sciences Department offers majors in biology chemistry biochemistry molecular biology environmental science and more. It serves undergraduate students interested in graduate school or medical school ecology and environmental science and the allied health sciences. The department also provides service courses for nursing and exercise science majors and for Trinitys Foundations program. More information about the department can be found on the college website.
Compensation:
For Assistant Professor the range is $50500 to $66500 based on degree experience and qualifications. A higher rank will also mean additional compensation. Benefits include health coverage life insurance and disability insurance.
Timeline:
The committee will begin reviewing applications on June 1 and will continue until the position is filled.
