Job Description
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports to: Operations Manager
Department: Finance & Budgeting
Job Type: Full Time
Location: On Site. Astana - Kazakhstan
Seeking a highly qualified experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team at Astana Kazakhstan.
The ideal candidate must be well-rounded with solid understanding of the Accounting & Budgeting principles with strong acumen in running and managing a small team of financial professionals within a Construction Project of a higher Education Institute.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries payments/receipts account reconciliation income statements cash-flow statements and other financial statement as appropriate.
- Plan manage and lead the monthly quarterly and year-end closing forecasts with constant coordination with relevant internal/external entities.
- Monitor and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine and maintain record of assets liabilities expenditures and other financial activities for management reporting.
- Perform timely and accurate accruals for all types of taxes duties and allocations taking in to account special conditions under the Investment Contracts.
- Plan compile consolidate and prepare the Company s budget (CAPEX OPEX & Manpower) in coordination with the internal sections/departments in accordance with the local/federal financial systems and guidelines.
- Conduct cost and financial expenditure analysis and recommend budget adjustment challenge cost allocations and ensure cost improvements and optimization at all times.
- Exert more emphasis on accurate cost management controls of funds cost-reduction managing petty-cash with full accountability with regular reporting to superiors for effective financial management.
- Update and maintain systems and procedures related to estimating cost tending and budgeting.
- Exert regular monitoring of expenditure and determine areas of concern which may impact Company operations and propose corrective measures towards mitigating financial risks and management.
- Ensure compliance to all internal policies and external regulations (ICS LLC) requirements
- Support and coordinate internal/external audit including Audit findings Audit Plans and the overall of Audit cycle with all relevant parties and ensure internal processes are managed and implemented with full transparency and strict accountability.
- Guide and mentor juniors to be effective with constant supervision and continuously improve accounting system procedures and policies demonstrating efficiency and solid financial management.
- Carry-out other general duties as appropriate.
Requirements
Qualification:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Master s Degree in Finance and related would be preferred.
- Minimum 5-years of exposure working in reputed Organizations Preferably Education or Construction industries.
- Exposure and experience within the education industry would be an advantage.
- Highly proficient in Accounting & ERP Systems (1C).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards (NFRS and IFRS).
- CA CPA or equivalent is a plus.
Qualities Sought:
- Excellent in organizational skills technical ability and decision making processes.
- Strong communication in English (Oral & Written) with an astute ability to write technical reports Presentations and corporate manuals (Speaks Native Kazakh and other languages is a plus).
- A strong communicator negotiator and a trouble shooter with an ability to multi-tasks and coordinate multiple critical operations simultaneously.
- Values strict accountability and adheres to internal & federal laws and regulations.
- Highly disciplined and able to drive a team towards achieving high-end results.
