Position: Repayment Officer 1 (Verification Operations)

Salary: 24250

Pension: 28.97% - Alongside your salary Student Loans Company contributes towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme

Student Loans Company is a non-profit making Government-owned organisation to provide loans and grants to students in universities and colleges in the UK. Since 1989 we have enabled our customers to invest in their futures by delivering secure accurate and efficient assessment payment and repayment services.

SLC now has an exciting opportunity for a Repayments Officer 1 to join our Verifications Operations team. Verification Operations (VO) sits within the Customer Operations directorate with an objective to increase repayments and support proper administration of the loan book.

The department comprises of 8 operational functions: Customer Care GDPR Data Subject Rights In-come Contingent Repayments (ICR) Mortgage Style Loans (MSL) VO Investigations VO Pro-cessing VO Support and Quality Assurance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing repayment customer queries across multiple channels. Repayment Officers provide customer services across the SLC in of products and debt categories in line with agreed quality and productivity expectations

SLC offer a blended working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

  • IT literate with the ability to work across multiple programs including (Office 365 Customer Relationship Management systems databases etc)
  • Ability to understand and interpret a wide range of information to inform advise and aid decision making.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail to achieve high standards of work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use your own initiative
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with customers in a clear concise and professional manner.
  • Effective team player with the ability to support others when required
  • Excellent written communication and numeracy skills.
