Job Title: Student Worker - Summer Research Assistant - Enzyme Structure and Activity

Job Classification: Lab and Research Support Student

Department: Chemistry and Biochemistry

Hiring Manager: Jonathan Clinger

Work Schedule: flexible working hours maximum 40 hours per week

Desired Length of Employment: Summer 2025. Earliest start May 20 End date August 1.

Pay Rate: 15.00

Job Description:

The successful candidates will perform expression purification and activity experiments on natural product and biosynthetic enzymes. Additional responsibilities include keeping an up-to-date and well annotated lab notebook and participation in weekly one-on-one meetings and group meetings. Candidates are expected to have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a research lab setting.

  • Provide lab/research support for assigned area of responsibility
  • Assist with various projects activities and tasks related to University laboratories and research
  • Adhere to and ensure safety procedures and precautions are followed
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
