Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the entire project and ensuring it adheres to the established timelines and budget.
- Coordinating with other project stakeholders including architects contractors and government agencies.
- Developing detailed design plans for runways taxiways aprons and other airport infrastructure.
- Ensuring compliance with local regulations safety standards and environmental requirements.
- Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Collaborating with architects and other engineers to integrate civil engineering elements into the airports overall design.
- Implementing quality control procedures to ensure the construction adheres to design specifications and meets industry standards.
- Conducting regular inspections and quality audits.
- Addressing and resolving any design or construction issues that may arise.
- Developing and managing project budgets.
- Tracking project costs and expenditures.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommending changes when necessary.
- Managing contracts with construction firms and subcontractors.
- Reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
- Ensuring that all parties involved adhere to contract requirements.
- Identifying potential risks to the project and developing mitigation plans.
- Monitoring and managing project risks throughout the construction process.
- Ensuring that all civil engineering aspects of the airport project comply with local state and federal regulations.
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
- Implementing environmental sustainability practices and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Managing environmental impact assessments and mitigation efforts.
- Leading a team of civil engineers and other professionals.
- Providing guidance mentoring and technical support to junior engineers and staff.
- Maintaining detailed project documentation including drawings reports and correspondence.
- Preparing regular progress reports for stakeholders and management.
- Regularly communicating with clients government agencies and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address concerns.
- Promoting a culture of safety on the construction site and ensuring that all safety regulations are followed.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors or masters degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
- Proven experience (15 years) in civil engineering with a focus on large infrastructure projects preferably including airports or transportation facilities.
- Strong expertise in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering tools.
