You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Amherst College Department of Computer Science invites applications for two full-time open-rank visiting positions beginning July 1 2025. These are one-year appointments with the possibilityof renewal contingent upon the needs of the department and positive reviews of teaching and other responsibilities. The teaching responsibility is two courses per semester. There is also the possibility of advising student honors theses. Candidates with expertise in any area of computer science are invited to apply.
Both research and teaching are strongly supported by the college which is situated within a vibrant intellectual community (including the University of Massachusetts Amherst an R1 university with a highly ranked CS department). The department has nine tenure-line faculty with research programs in areas including performance modeling natural language processing data science machine learning algorithms complexity and systems. A number of faculty are supported by NSF research grants. The department is housed in a recently constructed science center that contains top-notch research and teaching facilities. The teaching load is two courses per semester.

Each successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in computer science or have fulfilled all requirements for the degree by the start of the appointment.
