An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Executive Officer to join a high-profile government agency supporting the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in a fast-paced and strategic environment. This is a pivotal role providing high-level executive and operational support working closely with the Executive Team and senior stakeholders across the public and higher education sectors.
This role is perfect for a high-performing and professional individual who can provide trusted support exercise sound judgement and maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
Provide strategic and day-to-day support to the CEO including advice and stakeholder management.
Draft coordinate and review briefings correspondence reports and presentations.
Identify and manage emerging issues requiring executive attention.
Support the CEO with diary management travel arrangements and office administration.
Build strong relationships across government and the higher education sector.
Liaise closely with Executive Assistants and ensure the smooth operation of executive functions.
Coordinate internal and external reporting including responding to ministerial and agency queries.
Lead or assist in project and policy tasks that support the CEOs agenda and business priorities.
Essential:
Previous experience providing executive-level support in the APS or similar environment.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
High-level written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare sensitive and complex documents.
Ability to exercise discretion judgement and maintain confidentiality in a politically sensitive environment.
Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills with a professional and proactive approach.
Demonstrated initiative and a focus on delivering quality outcomes under pressure.
Desirable:
Familiarity with the higher education or research sector.
Understanding of public sector governance processes and protocols.
Eligibility:
Australian Citizenship is required.
Must either hold or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
Must be able to pass an ID verification and criminal history check.
