Provide general admin/office support.
Responsibilities
The SHA is expected to understand and fulfill the general responsibilities and expectations that follow: A. INTERPERSONAL 1. Spend adequate time in the community to develop relationships with residents. 2. Plan develop and implement one collaborative program per month in an effort to meet students needs and interest. 3. Assist students in handling crises and solving problems. Refers students to appropriate University resources when necessary. 4. Facilitate positive confrontation to protect the rights of all residents benefit the community atmosphere and encourage positive change in student behavior. 5. Role model appropriate community behavior by strictly adhering to the RLA Student Conduct Code and local state and federal law. Staff development 1) Develop individual expectations with the supervisor. 2) Maintain consistent and professional communication with SHA team and professional staff. 3) Serve as a role model for other staff and residents which includes but is not limited to: 1. Alcohol use in accordance with University policy and federal and state law 2. Behave in accordance with Residence Life and First Year Experience values 3. Maintain a safe and healthy living environment B. ADMINISTRATIVE 1) Assists in implementing the daily operations and services of the hall office including but not limited to: check-ins/check-outs assignment changes room walkthroughs occupancy reports key inventories package processing/distribution. 2) Disseminate and post campus information. 3) Assist with specific projects as needed. C. DUTY & CRISIS RESPONSE 1) Address and document incidents in which students violate Residence Life and First Year Experience and/or University policies or regulations. 2) Assist Residence Life and First Year Experience and Public Safety staff in confronting and referring student behavioral problems to proper resources when necessary. 3) Weekday duty is from 5:00 PM until 8:00 AM the next day. Staff MUST carry the duty phone at ALL times and respond to calls within 5 minutes. Between 5:00 8:00 PM staff must be no further than 10 minutes away from their assigned community. Between 8:00 PM 8:00 AM staff must physically present in their assigned community. 4) Weekend duty is from 5:00 PM on Friday until 8:00 AM on Monday. Staff MUST carry the duty phone at ALL times and respond to calls within 5 minutes. Between 8:00 AM 8:00PM staff must be no further than 10 minutes away from their assigned community. Between 8:00 PM 8:00AM staff MUST be physically present in their assigned community. 5) 24 hour duty coverage is in effect during holidays (similar to weekend duty) where staff must be on call during University closures. 6) Refer to the attached Duty Expectations and Protocol document for additional relevant information. D. ASSUME OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSIGNED BY SUPERVISOR
Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
