Position Summary:
North Greenville University is seeking a full-time Defensive Line Coach to oversee the development and performance of its defensive line unit. The coach will work closely with the defensive staff to design position-specific instruction assist with game planning recruit student-athletes and support a Christ-centered team culture. This role is key in fostering a competitive disciplined environment that prioritizes both athletic and spiritual growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coaching & Player Development:
Develop and implement training plans that enhance the skills fundamentals and performance of defensive linemen.
Instruct players on technique scheme and situational play for the defensive front.
Conduct position-specific meetings film study and drills during practices and games.
Analyze game and practice film to provide feedback and create improvement plans for each player.
Support the Defensive Coordinator in the development and execution of weekly game plans.
Recruiting:
Identify and recruit student-athletes who align with the mission and values of North Greenville University.
Evaluate film build relationships with high school coaches and coordinate on-campus visits.
Support retention efforts and monitor player engagement within the program.
Assist with recruiting events and database management.
Program Leadership & Administration:
Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes promoting academic success spiritual development and personal growth.
Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA conference and university rules and policies.
Collaborate with academic and athletic support staff to ensure player eligibility and progress.
Participate in team events fundraising efforts and community service initiatives.
Contribute to a positive and accountable team culture in line with the universitys Christian values.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and players in real time.
Capacity to instruct and demonstrate football techniques drills and conditioning exercises.
Ability to lift push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
Strong visual and auditory perception for performance analysis.
Physical stamina to participate in extended practices travel and recruiting events.
Work Schedule & Travel Requirements:
Non-traditional hours required including mornings evenings weekends and holidays based on game practice and recruiting schedules.
Travel is required for away games recruiting and team events.

Working Relationships
Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred.
Minimum of three years of football coaching experience preferably with the defensive line.
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop mentor and positively influence student-athletes.
Must support and live out NGUs mission and core values.
Affirm understanding of the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
Affirm understanding of the Universitys Statement on Human Flourishing.
Agree to abide by all university employee handbooks and community standards agreements.
