Job Description:
The Facilities Manager at Spiritus Sanctus Academy is responsible for maintaining the school buildings and grounds. The Facilities Manager persons and supervises the tasks related to HVAC electrical plumbing security environmental safety custodial and event coordination. This position requires a team-player attitude excellent interpersonal and communication skills attention to details and project coordination. The Facilities Manager has a clear understanding of and upholds acceptable business practices in relationship to Church teachings. The Facilities Manager has the ability to collaborate with and support the Dominican Sisters school administration faculty staff and school families.
Major Responsibilities:
  1. Manages and/or performs all work related to the maintenance of school buildings including but not limited to HVAC plumbing electrical custodial and security of the school.
  2. Regularly inspects school properties for areas of concern including playground and wooded areas; walks grounds and facility daily
  3. Performs basic carpentry repairs and daily custodial upkeep
  4. Maintains equipment on school grounds by closely monitoring equipment and completing necessary testing as required.
  5. Maintains accurate records of all maintenance repairs. Performs repairs as needed.
  6. Coordinates and assists with custodial needs of the school; especially cooperating the third party custodial contractor who reports directly to the principal
  7. Oversees and provides event coordination and scheduling for set up and take down for meetings events games and otherwise as directed.
  8. Keeps buildings safe by making sure they meet building code requirements.
  9. Works with the principal and designated team members to report problems solutions and costs associated.
  10. Provides a weekly status update to principal on any pending project.
  11. Possibly developing overseeing and assisting volunteers providing various forms of school maintenance
  12. Communicates with and supervises contractors and vendors as they relate to maintenance.
  13. Implements procedures for handling storing safekeeping and destruction of hazardous materials. Maintain school MSDS system.
  14. Works with the principal to manage the annual facility budget.
  15. Maintains school wide inventory list related to maintenance of facilty and reviews list at least annually.
  16. Assists school IT department when a change needs to be made requiring a change to facilities.
  17. Ensures compliance and implementation of policies as they relate to school facilities.
  18. Provides snow removal lawn service and landscaping as needed.
  19. Attends staff meetings as needed and adheres to school policies.
  20. Serves as primary contact for facility related emergencies which may require evening and weekend work.
  21. Other duties as assigned.

  2. Interacts positively with children and young people.
  3. Is self-motivated and willing to serve.
  4. Ability to execute projects systematically.
  5. Good craftsmanship.
  6. Good organizational and communication skills.
  7. School employment requirements must be met.
  8. Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
