About the role
An opportunityexists for an assignment to the role of Principal Departmental Liaison Officer (DLO) in the Office of the Minister for Water. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a greater insight into the operations of the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) at the highest level as well as understand the workings of a Ministers office and how decisions are made.
The Principal DLO is the Departments point of contact in the Ministers office. The role provides policy and procedural advice to the Minister and DCCEEW and ensures the effective exchange of information between the Ministers office and DCCEEW.
About you
The secondee in this position will play an important role in assisting with the development and delivery of key government priorities. The role requires the ability to prioritise requests manage workloads and exercise independent sound judgement in an environment of tight timelines and high volumes as well as supporting effective communications in both directions between the Ministers office and DCCEEW including but not limited to facilitating the progression of briefing documents cabinet documents parliamentary matters legislation event packages policy advice and correspondence.
The position reports to the Director Ministerial Services Branch in the Department but for practical reasons reports to the Chief of Staff on a daily basis.
The position is located at 52 Martin Place and working in the office is required. Flexible working arrangements may be available subject to approval.
