Big Brown House (BBH) is a community-based organisation focused on providing holistic family support and child protection. As a provider of choice across NSW Big Brown House supports Children and Young People in the community with Emergency Care Support Services Foster Care and Respite.

We are currently seeking a Rostering Officer in the Hunter Region on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Program Manager the Rostering Officer will support the Hunter Operations Teams in the creation and monitoring of rosters across the region to effectively meet service agreements operational requirements and support needs and preferences of Therapeutic Support Workers.

About the role

  • Liaise with Team Leaders and Program Managers to develop and maintain staffing rosters in accordance with client needs contract agreements budgets and award (SCHADS) requirements
  • Allocate staff resources effectively in relation to teams shift swaps leave training and workers compensation
  • Ensure hours worked by employees are monitored to ensure employees are working within any industrial relation obligations
  • Work in conjunction with Finance to ensure timesheet requirements and payroll reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

What do you need

  • Prior experience within high volume rostering scheduling and/or workforce planning role
  • Previous experience in the utilisation of rostering software systems
  • Understanding of relevant industrial award (SCHADS) conditions (desirable)
  • Outstanding time management and a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to develop and maintain successful relationships at all levels across the organisation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
