Description

About the role

The Welcome Officer ensures smooth clinic flow by supporting clients through check-in form completion and general assistance while they wait for their appointments.

Duties

  • Greet clients and provide tea and coffee to clients in the waiting area.
  • Respond to client queries or concerns promptly.
  • Ensure accurate data entry into the system.
  • Provide relevant surveys and ensure they are returned.
  • Monitor client flow and provide updates to clinical staff.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques to manage client distress or conflict respectfully.

Skills And Experiences

COVID-19 Requirement

Immunisation history showing you have receivedtwo doses of a Covid -19 vaccine is encouraged.

  • Previous experience in a customer service or reception role preferably in a health or community setting.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use client management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • National Police Check.
  • Evidence of working rights.

Preferred

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Certificate III in Business Administration Health Services Assistance or similar.
  • Understanding of culturally appropriate service delivery.
  • Knowledge of clinic operations or medical terminology.
  • First Aid.
