DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage the visual direction for various campaigns and initiatives.
- With oversight from the Director Campaigns and Digital Strategy ideate concepts and develop visual solutions that deliver against the brief while adhering to brand strategies and guidelines.
- Oversee visual direction of the project making sure elements are consistent and align with the concept providing oversight of design work and visual direction.
- Work closely with the Manager Campaigns and Digital Fundraising to deliver creative direction and creative assets to support annual giving campaigns.
- Collaborate with theManager campaigns and digital fundraising on creative strategy for elements assets or creatives that exist within The Mustard Seed portfolio or could benefit from inclusion inthe portfolio.
- Lead and mentor a team of designers providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality creative output.
- Be responsible for conceptual delivery and team management.
- Demonstrate a proficient understanding and application of design principles and current trends including color theory typography and visual composition.
- Develop engaging creative solutions from concept to execution.
- Provide clear compelling and strategic rationale for creative concepts and articulate rationale directly to the internal team and the client.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing development data campaigns and donor relations to ensure visual consistency and alignment with project objectives.
- Oversee the creation of visual assets including graphics videos and other multimedia content.
- Ensure all visual deliverables meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
- Facilitate creative meetings and provide regular updates to the project team.
- Facilitate excellent graphic and artistic design through leveraging relationships with key internal staff members and external partners.
- Support all aspects of the creative lifecycle including concept development execution and final delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety protocols and complete incident reports as required.
- All other duties as may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- You have 3 years of experience in increasingly senior design roles ideally agency experience
- You are an insightful and strategic designer with digital and print marketing experience are a definite asset
- Completion of an accredited design program or equivalent design-related field
- A robust portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design approaches and solutions
- Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Design Suite (InDesign Photoshop Illustrator & Sketch) familiarity with Figma and Adobe XD is an asset
- Experience with animation video editing web & digital design including HTML 5 CSS UX & 3D structural design is an asset
- An attentive listener with an ability to problem solve based on internal direction or stakeholder feedback
- An articulate and dynamic presenter able to inform and inspire clients in concept presentations
- A positive and proactive problem-solver with ability to give constructive feedback on creative.
- Be approachable flexible and available.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- This job takes place in an office environment primarily seated at a desktop computer with frequent meetings in Calgary and in locations across Alberta (occasional travel may be required).
- Minimal physical effort is required to perform this role on a daily basis with moderate physical effort required for travel within Calgary.
- A high level of mental focus is generally required to maintain quality standards and to generate new ideas on a regular basis that support the goals of the position and the organization.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
- Employees are to be aware that many of our clients may experience difficulties or impairment at times which could result in them uttering threats discriminatory statements and other insults at your person. This may be in a raised voice or in seeing unpredictable behaviour up to and including the possibility of them becoming aggressive.
- Training on how to respond is provided but this is to be considered typical working conditions. Many of our clients are unaware of the impact of these comments.

- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
This position requires the use of a company vehicle. Candidate must have and maintain valid drivers licence and will need to consent to a drivers abstract request.
