POSITION TITLE

Instructional Technology Coach

SUMMARY: The job of Instructional Technology Coach was established for the purposes of improving student performance by interfacing with teachers to facilitate the integration of technology into instruction by developing and conducting professional development sessions on infusing technology into the core arenas of academic curriculum; maintaining training facility resources and equipment; providing input and recommendations regarding software purchases and both site and network technology plans; and providing input/insight on ways to increase teachers use of technology as it positively impacts students academic performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes student and program related data for the purpose of providing information related to student program achievement in order to evaluate program effectiveness and to provide information needed for strategic planning.
  • Collaborates with teachers on the design and preparation of district developed tools to enhance the implementation of programs and technology assessments and learning environment that meet student programs and network objectives in an effective and timely manner.
  • Develops instructional technology solutions and related training materials for the purpose of providing users with tools needed to utilize emerging instructional technology to enhance student learning in literacy and math.
  • Participates in developing and monitoring ethical use network-wide instructional technology guidelines and standards (e.g. content relevance effectiveness etc.) for the purpose of enhancing student achievement while minimizing costs and ensuring data compatibility.
  • Participates in meetings workshops and/or trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
  • Prepares documentation (e.g. user guides recommendations lesson plans reports instructions memos etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Researches instructional technology related student achievement technology for the purpose of making recommendations and assisting with the design and implementation in order to meet the network master plan for instructional technology.
  • Assist the technology department in developing infrastructure in accordance to the growth of our educational environment.
  • Trains staff in the use of instructional and network standard software and hardware products for the purpose of improving work efficiency and effectiveness by enhancing the ability to use new and/or existing software and devices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree in Education job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.

Certificates Licenses Registrations: Valid Teaching Certificate from D.E.S.E.

Language Skills: Ability to read and analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators staff and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concept such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Technology Abilities: Ability to operate a variety of technology in an instructional setting proficiency in a chrome based and windows based environment create multimedia and digital video presentations and/or promotions policies and regulation guidelines as they relate to use of software and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all Confluence requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and depth perception. The employee must be able to hear and determine where noises are coming from.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Building supervision often requires the employee to be outside in all sorts of weather or conditions. The noise level in this environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day and location.
