This leadership role is responsible for global procurement of IT spend of approximately $450 million globally. This position has a major impact on the companys ability to successfully launch new technology on time within budget as well as meet quality cost and delivery objectives. Additionally this position will continuously and proactively investigate new suppliers and technologies in order to submit ideas to IT stakeholders and category management to maintain a funnel of opportunities to support the organizational goals.
Key Duties:
- Lead a team of IT strategic sourcing managers and be IT primary procurement point of contact for all new and existing technology projects and will contribute as the subject matter expert for contract and sourcing strategy and planning.
- Continuously and proactively investigate new suppliers and technologies to submit ideas to IT stakeholders to maintain a funnel of opportunities to support interpersonal goals.
- Partner with IT and business leadership to ensure that IT strategies projects vendor SRM activities including scorecarding market and business intelligence accountability for deliverables continuous improvement are all managed to meet the expectations of Baxter.
- Develop robust category strategies that reduce supply base reduce dependence on single/sole sourced suppliers deliver continuity of supply and provide for annual cost reductions.
- Manage strategize and deliver all aspects of Strategic Sourcing and Spend Management.
- Effectively partner and collaborate long term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Develop supplier relationship management and risk assessments; implementation of appropriate risk mitigation plans.
- Lead robust business review process with suppliers and internal stakeholders which includes performance innovation creation of competitive advantage for Baxter
- Ability to collaborate in a global cross functional matrixed environment including ability to influence negotiate and manage stakeholder interests/expectations.
- Create a shortterm and longterm plan for optimal delivery of cost reduction supplier continuity continuous improvement in vendor delivery and performance
- Able to meet deadlines balancing multiple priorities managing a wide variety of stakeholders
- Capable of managing acquisition and divestment activities (M&A)
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree; MBA desirable. CPM preferred.
- 10 years of proven experience in IT Procurement (7 years in a leadership role) Supply Chain and/or Project Management in a regulated industry desired.
- Experience with new technology programs and stage gate processes with the ability to handle a multitude of projects required.
- A toptier negotiator with knowledge of cost tools such as material breakdown benchmarking value analysis value engineering sophisticated RFQs and innovative purchasing tools.
- Travel of 10%25% including global travel.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end this position has a base salary range of 160000 to 240000 plus an annual incentive bonus commission and equity target. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including but not limited to relevant skills/experience time in role business line and geographic/office location.
