**$500 sign on bonus ($250 at the completion of first week of training and $250 after successful completion of first 90 days) **

 

Position: Employment Specialist 1 Full Time

Location: Bloomfield CT

Rate of Pay: $23.84 per hour; plus $40 biweekly stipend for second language

Hours: 37.5Hours per week

Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday 11am to 6:30pm or 12pm to 7:30pm; Schedule may fluctuate based upon program needs

Summary: 

  • Use your creative job seeking skills to support people with disabilities secure and succeed in communitybased employment. 
  • Be part of a creative supportive team to help people with disabilities reach their vocational goals.  
  • Participate in an intelligent progressive team approach working closely with State funding sources 
  • Case manage and develop employment relationships between the people you support and community employers providing access to an array of employment job training and educational opportunities. 
  • Provide individualized supports to assist people with the employment skills they need to include; resume writing interview skills travel training and job etiquette. 

Qualifications:  

  • High School/GED or HiSET plus 12 years related experience OR Associates degree plus 1 year related experience and/or training. 
  • One year of human service experience desired. 
  • Knowledge of and respect for diverse populations.

 Requirements: 

  • Ability to use computers to include Microsoft Word data entry email and internet essential. 
  • Must have a valid drivers license 3 years driving experience good driving record use of vehicle and willingness to transport participants in personal vehicle. 
  • Must be able to travel within the region to access residential settings employers offices and community organizations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule required
