Now Hiring: Director of Materials Management Acute Care Hospital
Compensation: $125000$135000 base 10% bonus potential relocation assistance
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Director of Materials Management to join a stable and respected acute care hospital. This position is available due to the upcoming retirement of the current director and offers the opportunity to lead a wellestablished team and make a lasting impact on supply chain operations.
About the Role:
The Director will oversee all aspects of the hospitals materials management functions including procurement inventory control and distribution. This individual will be responsible for ensuring efficient and costeffective operations to support both clinical and nonclinical departments.
Key Direct Reports:
- Materials Manager (storeroom oversight)
- Operating Room Buyer
- Total team: approx. 14 FTEs
Systems: Oracle (experience preferred)
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the materials management department overseeing purchasing inventory vendor relations and distribution.
- Manage supply chain operations to ensure cost efficiency timely availability of supplies and support of clinical care.
- Partner with department heads and OR leadership to align supply chain strategy with clinical needs.
- Utilize Oracle to manage purchasing workflows and inventory controls.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards across all procurement activities.
- Develop departmental budgets and implement costsaving initiatives without compromising quality.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of leadership experience in a healthcare or hospitalbased materials management setting is required.
- Strong understanding of hospital supply chain operations vendor management and inventory systems.
- Prior experience with Oracle or a comparable ERP system is strongly preferred.
- Ability to lead a team manage change and implement process improvements in a dynamic hospital environment.
- Proven collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with clinical and administrative stakeholders.
