Job Title: UX Designer (Contract)
Primary Location: Remote (USbased required)
Position Type: 12month Contract with Intent to Convert
Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for a UX Designer! This is a contracttohire role that is remote within the U.S.
This exciting opportunity places you at the heart of a missiondriven crossfunctional team of researchers frontend and backend engineers and data scientists. As the sole UX Designer on the team youll play a central role in bridging design and developmentensuring that digital interfaces are accessible usable and aligned with brand and research goals. The work has a meaningful impact on public interest and youll help shape the way information and experiences are delivered to users.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
35 years of professional experience in UX Design
Proficiency in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator)
Ability to produce both traditional and technical design deliverables (e.g. vector files HTML/CSS mockups)
Strong communication skills and the ability to operate independently as the sole UX resource
Portfolio showcasing modern accessible web interfacesideally with public interest or researchoriented work
Comfortable working within crossfunctional agile product teams
Preferred / Bonus Experience:
Experience or interest in opensource software/tools (e.g. Penpot Inkscape)
Experience working on B2B applications or data visualization tools
Understanding of brand governance or researchfocused branding
Background in UX research (usability testing interviews analysis)
Familiarity with frontend frameworks or light development work
Cultural Fit
Curious selfmotivated and comfortable in a researchdriven environment
Aligned with public interest values and missiondriven work
Willing to get hands dirty and work handson with engineers
Passionate about opensource or social impact projects
What Youll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
Lead UX design efforts across multiple webbased projects
Collaborate closely with frontend developers engineers and researchers
Facilitate design workshops and deliver highquality wireframes mockups and prototypes
Work within (or help develop) brand style guides and contribute to accessible userfriendly interfaces
Deliver frontend handoff assets (HTML/CSS SVGs vector formats)
Represent the user perspective in a highly technical and collaborative team environment
Support opensource design practices when applicable
Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $4059 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance 401(k) and paid time off.
This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
All offers are contingent upon the completion of a background check which may include but is not limited to reference checks education verification employment verification drug testing criminal records checks and any required certifications or compliance requirements based on the end clients background check policies and applicable laws.
