COMMITMENT TO SERVICE
The mission of the County Administrators Office is to manage and coordinate all county government operations and other public policy program activities as required by federal state and local law and as directed by the Board of Supervisors in order to provide innovative effective and fiscally responsible services to the people of Solano County.
The Office of the County Administrator:
Experience: Three (3) years experience within Solano County as an Accounting Clerk III Accounting Technician or another County class where budget preparation accounting and/or public finance is a significant part of the job.
or
Five (5) years public sector office administrative experience including three (3) years of public sector budget preparation and maintenance public financial management and/or accounting.
Note 1: Sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter units from and accredited college or university of which 15 semester or 22.5 quarter units are in governmental budgeting and accounting public finance and reporting or bookkeeping may substitute for two (2) of the three (3) years public sector budget preparation and maintenance public financial management and accounting experience.
Note 2: While professional certifications are not required possessing one or more issued from a recognized certification body and directly related to the intent of the class is desired and may be considered during the rating and/or selection processes.

Based on the information provided in the application documents the qualified applicants may be invited for further examination and will either be prescheduled by the Department of Human Resources or be invited to selfschedule. All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Depending upon the number of applications received the selection process may consist of an initial application screening a mandatory information meeting a supplemental questionnaire assessment a written and/or practical exam an oral board exam or any combination listed. Responses to supplemental questions may be used as screening and testing mechanisms and will be used to assess an applicants ability to advance in the process; as such responses to supplemental questions should be treated as test examination responses. A minimum score of 70% is required to continue in the selection process unless otherwise announced.All applicants are encouraged to submit either a copy of their college diploma (verifying the degree date earned and area of specialization) or official/unofficial transcripts (verifying the institution student date and degree conferred) by the final filing deadline. However proof of this education requirement must be met prior to appointment.
