Job Description

Job Summary

We are searching for an exceptional administrative professional to join the Community Development team! The ideal candidate will have a track record of establishing collaborative relationships be highly organized communicate with diplomacy and tact and have a strong public service orientation. We value personal accountabilityhigh ethical and professional standards and a great sense of humor!

JOB SUMMARY
This position serves as the executive assistant to the Community Development Director supports the coordination and efficiency of department operations and provides staff support to the Planning Commission as well as the Board of Commissioners on Community Development matters. This position also provides administrative support to the department by coordinating and managing daytoday office operations.

BENEFITS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (AS23)
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  • Associates degree from an accredited college; AND
  • 5 years of progressive or high level administrative support experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.

Special Requirements
  • A cover letter is required to be submitted with your application.
  • Intermediatelevel proficiency in the MS Office Suite programs required (Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook).
  • Licensed as a Notary Public or obtain within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualities
  • Experience in local government planning building or economic development.

  • Savvy technical skills including recordkeeping meeting minutes upkeep of databases and file management

  • Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
  • Confidence to make independent sometimes timesensitive decisions
  • Ability to both legally and ethically maintain confidential information
  • Talent to lead and is comfortable leading special projects and training staff
  • Aptitude to both anticipate and adapt to changing circumstances
