Job Description
John Sevier Elementary is seeking a 2ndgradeteaching candidate.
This is a fulltime position with benefits for theschool year.
Certification: Current K6 Tennessee Department of Education certification with proof of highly qualified status and related work experience.
Expectations: Willingness to participate in a multistep interview process.
Qualities of a Desired Candidate Include:
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Desire to build positive relationships with students and their families
- Complete understanding of K3 State of Tennessee Curriculum
- Comfortable in using data resources such as iReady Aimsweb Scholastic STAR Reading etc. and the ability to share results with appropriate stakeholders
- Ability to use data to drive instruction
- Possess confidence in integrating technology into instruction and as a means of effective twoway communication with all stakeholders
- Understanding of student learning styles ageappropriate instructional strategies and educational best practices
- A strong desire to build meaningful relationships with students and their families promoting a sense of belonging.
- Desire to organize participate and attend afterschool and evening programs such as performances parent meetings and other school events
- Approach to using both formative and summative assessment data to drive instruction
- Exemplify honesty integrity loyalty humor and professionalism in all interactions.
Physical Requirements:
- All applicants must be able to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g. lifting 50 pounds regularly sitting for extended periods walking seeing standing for extended periods etc.).
