Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To provide instructional academic and technical support/assistance to campus leadership/staff that will lead to the creation and maintenance of valid and reliable designation systems through the Teacher Incentive Allotment which will increase the impact and retention of highly effective teachers particularly in high need campuses. The Instructional Support Facilitator is to provide technical assistance as needed collect data and oversee the review of data files ensure TIA compliance and provide the best program to meet district goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelors Degree required Masters Degree required

Texas Teaching Certificate required

Texas MidManagement or other appropriate certificate preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Communicate effectively (verbal and written); utilize effective interpersonal skills; interpret data federal and state laws and policies; demonstrate broadbased knowledge of curriculum demonstrate knowledge of teaching philosophies and instructional strategies; demonstrate ability to evaluate student programs and teaching effectiveness; demonstrate computer knowledge required

Experience:

Three (3) years of experience as a classroom teacher required Three (3) years experience at district level position preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Keep informed about current legislation educational developments literature and research in the field of education/assigned subject by participating in local/regional/state professional development trainings.
  2. Serve as a facilitator for planning and capacity building initiatives such as the Teacher Incentive Allotment to help improve instructional practices implementation and monitoring of student academic progress.
  3. Assist with the collection of data its analysis and report to the Associate Superintendent of Instructional
  4. Coordinate support and feedback to Associate Superintendent as it relates to instructional support and the Teacher Incentive Allotment.
  5. Identify trends in data to make changes to support teachers and administrators in obtaining TIA recognition.
  6. Plan and effectively conduct professional development as needed to campuses and district departments on the TIA local designation system data collection and validation and student growth measures.
  7. Take an active role in problem solving with the Campus/District leadership
  8. Attend campus and district leadership meetings as needed.
  9. Keep the Associate Superintendent informed of all projects or initiatives undertaken and of directives or requests received internally or externally for Instructional Leadership and Instructional Services.
  10. Along with the other district/campus administrators monitors planning and implementation of the Teacher Incentive Allotment local designated systems using guidance and support.
  11. Support and monitor the implementation of the district/campus improvement plans and student performance goals and share in the accountability structure.
  12. Support with the desegregation of data including results from Campus and District benchmarks; local Teacher Incentive Allotment student growth measures and state.
  13. Work with the district to identify secure and maintain necessary resources for successful implementation of assigned projects.
  14. Coordinate with District Finance Office and Payroll Department to carry out the spending plan outlined in the Teacher Incentive Allotment application.
  15. Assure the development of local policies and procedures to ensure compliance with TIA rules and regulations.
  16. Demonstrate loyalty within a team approach to District initiatives.
  17. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator) in accordance with funding source guidelines.

Working Days: 217

Daily Rate pay range:

Minimum: $317.08

Maximum: $ 442.40

Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each persons jobrelated experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
