Position: Elementary Teacher (Pool)
Location: South Campus
Salary is commensurate upon previous experience and valid certification.
OBJECTIVE
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials equipment and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency board policies and administrative guidelines. The Elementary Teacher should be able to manage a classroom environment communicate and teach on one or more subjects clearly and effectively and follow school procedures. This position is responsible for monitoring each students progress and providing extra mentorship to those who need it. The Teacher should also enforce school rules and encourage good student behavior in and out of the classroom. Teaching children about core concepts such as numbers letters shapes and colors. Using creative handson methods of learning such as artistic expression free play and storytelling. Planning a curriculum that addresses early childhood education requirements. Work with students individually to help them overcome specific learning challenges. Patience compassion and energy are all vital qualities of a successful PreK Teacher. You should be capable of inspiring encouraging and developing young children each of whom will have different abilities challenges and personalities. To plan and execute lessons which are memorable innovative and achieve the desired learning outcomes the teacher should have a creative mindset and good administrative skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Planning a curriculum that addresses early childhood education requirements.
Encouraging and monitoring social interactions between children.
Instilling a sense of respect and discipline so that children work effectively in a classroom setting.
Supervising children outside of class time such as during lunch out on the playground or on field trips.
Making sure that the classroom is clean safe and wellorganized.
Setting up the materials and workspaces required for class activities.
Communicating with parents to learn more about each childs life outside the classroom.
Creating reports to inform parents about their childrens progress at school.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Required: Bilingual in English and Spanish
Preferred: Minimum of three years teaching experience in a Texas Public School.
Preferred: Experience teaching children in the prekindergarten and elementary age group.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred: Degree in Education with a focus on early childhood learning.
Preferred: Valid Texas Certification in your area of instruction
