Lead the strategic and operational success of the assigned category. The role involves crafting and executing business models analysing markets and understanding customer behaviour to seize opportunities. It involves vendor relations optimize operations and drive sales strategies for sustainable growth. Additionally youll cultivate a high performance team setting goals and fostering a culture of excellence across functions.
Key Accountabilities & Support Actions
Business Strategy
Develop a comprehensive business model for the assigned category identifying and capturing key market opportunities while ensuring optimal P&L performance.
Conduct indepth market research to stay ahead of trends prioritize opportunities and ensure alignment with internal capabilities.
Develop a deep understanding of customer behaviour and preferences to inform strategic decisionmaking.
Analyse the competitive landscape both online and offline and formulate effective response strategies.
Map the entire vendor & B2B value chain identifying opportunities for optimization and profitability.
Collaborate with leadership across functions to translate strategies into actionable plans and drive necessary changes.
Build Supply & Operations
Lead a vendorrelations team to build strategic partnerships and secure favourable terms for customers.
Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor management strategy and governance framework.
Understand the value chain and contact vendors to improve quality reliability and margins.
Leverage technology to streamline operations and expand product selections.
Partner with Supply Chain teams to guarantee product availability and meet customer demands.
Merchandising & Sales Strategy
Identify and implement strategies to drive customer acquisition transaction growth and category profitability.
Develop and manage pricing strategies based on market dynamics customer insights margins and competitive intelligence.
Design and execute promotional campaigns to stimulate sales and brand awareness.
Establish a sustainable business model for longterm category success.
Identify growth areas and explore new business opportunities within the assigned category.
People Development
Build motivate and mentor a highperforming team to achieve success across all functions.
Set clear goals define key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure the team effectively tracks progress towards objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong understanding of chemicals business from both the chemistry side & end user applications in various industries like pharma pipes packaging construction textiles
Experience in Internet /B2B Ecommerce (Chemicals) industry is a plus.
Appreciate technology; should have a digital bent of mind.
Desire and ability to think like the customer.
Networking & Relationship Management Should have a strong network.
Ability to translate strategies into execution plans and take them to completion. Highly analytical and detail oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication with interpersonal skills
Ability to connect with people across teams & levels. Proven people leadership skills.
