Job Description

St. Josephs Catholic Primary School is a small friendly oneform entry primary school situated just north of Bracknell Town Centre. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced School Business Manager to join our team and play a vital strategic leadership role in the continued growth and success of our school from September 2025.

About this role:

As School Business Manager you will oversee and lead the strategic direction and daytoday management of finance and operations across the school. Working closely with the headteacher and as a member of the senior leadership team you will be a key driver in ensuring that our school runs smoothly and sustainably supporting the best outcomes for our pupils and staff.

We are seeking a person who is:

  • An experienced School Business Manager with a proven track record of excellent financial management.
  • A strategic thinker who can drive improvement and manage change
  • An enthusiastic organised and flexible person.
  • A collaborative team player and good communicator
  • Competent with overall financial management of the school
  • Able to manage operational functions including premises health & safety HR and IT services
  • Competent in using online portals such as FMS and SIMs
  • Able to support the governing body with financial monitoring and reporting
  • Able to attend governors meetings when required to do so
  • Able to lead a team including caretaker cleaners school secretaries lunchtime staff and extended schools staff

25 hours per week open to discussion as to when these hours are timetabled across the week and can include some remote working. Term time only two weeks.

Preemployment medical check
