Job Description
Our client is seeking a Payments Manager to support daytoday operations with a strong focus on reconciliation reporting and payment service provider (PSP) performance. This is a handson role suited to someone with experience in online transactions particularly within fastpaced regulated environments.
The role balances operational duties with strategic input making it ideal for someone who has progressed from reconciliation or payment operations and is now ready to take greater ownership of performance analysis issue resolution and process optimisation.

Responsibilities:
As a Payments Manager your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Reconciliation Oversight:
Manage regular reconciliation activities between internal systems and external payment partners to ensure data accuracy and timely settlements. - Reporting & Analysis:
Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track key payment metrics such as approval rates transaction costs settlement times and chargebacks. - Performance Monitoring:
Review and analyse PSP performance escalate issues and propose optimisations for routing efficiency and fallback handling. - Issue Management:
Act as a point of contact for discrepancies and missing funds coordinating closely with internal teams and PSPs to resolve issues. - Cost Tracking:Monitor processing costs and identify inefficiencies or trends that could be optimised to minimise financial leakage.
- Process Improvement:
Document procedures configurations and internal logic while identifying opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual overhead. - Compliance Support:
Ensure reporting and reconciliation practices align with internal controls and regulatory expectations collaborating with compliance teams as needed. - Stakeholder Coordination:
Maintain effective communication with external payment partners and internal teams to ensure operational alignment and progress tracking.
Requirements:
- 24 years of experience in payments operations reconciliation or financial reporting within a digital or regulated sector
- Strong knowledge of settlement cycles payout flows and transaction behaviour
- High proficiency in Excel; knowledge of SQL or BI tools is a strong plus
- Experience in managing reconciliation issues and interpreting PSP reports
- Analytical and detailoriented with strong problemsolving skills
- Ability to communicate insights clearly across different functions
