ROLE SUMMARY
Medical Information and Review (MIR) is a global customercentric group focused on providing trusted and accurate medical information for Pfizer products to healthcare providers patients and caretakers and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver the Medical Review process for Medical and Promotional content ensuring compliance with Pfizer policies and local requirements.
Key expectations for this role include leading a subcategory team of Medical Information &Review Scientists and Medical Reviewers leading core MIR sciencerelated activities for a designated portfolio encompassing one or more therapy areas. The scope of responsibilities will include Local and Global elements.
The Medical Information and Review Subcategory Lead also serves as an extension of the US/GLOBAL MIR Leadership team to influence and drive the advancement of the MIR vision mission and goals through utilizing their deep domain and scientific expertise and crossfunctional leadership skills. She/he sponsors and leads complex projects/initiatives. The MIR Subcategory Lead will also be responsible for leading strategic operational and expansion activities for Medical Information and Review colleagues.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Core MIR Scientific Services
- Leads and manages the medical to medical and medical to patient exchanges in response to unsolicited medical inquiries on Pfizer medicines and vaccines using expertise with MI science skills in defining the research question researching the relevant topics evaluating the evidence and synthesizing it to deliver high quality medical and scientific information
- Delivers content leadership through review of accurate and fair balanced scientific content for designated portfolio in accordance with MIR standards and prevailing regulations. When needed may be required to review or maintain medical content and MI material based on team demands (e.g. vacations vacancies launch readiness)
- Leads or participates in crossfunctional product teams and drives the strategic development of MI content via these teams.
- Works closely with Business Partners and MI Content Team to lead MI launch preparedness for applicable products/major indications from a MIR perspective including MI Customer Experience team readiness.
Subcategory Team Lead Accountability & Leadership
- Leads the sub team in achieving global and local objectives through effective teamwork in a virtual and global environment.
- Leads mentors coaches and trains new and existing colleagues.
- Leads issue resolution related to daytoday work proposes recommendations and drives implementation of changes new processes etc.
- Acts as extension of Global/US MIR Leadership team serving on Global/US MIR XLT.
- Leads/coleads Local and/or Global projects/initiatives that have an impact beyond the function and/or the country.
- Engage with Medical Enablement & Quality and MIR leaders and contribute to advancing our MI transformation priorities and adoption of innovative technologies aiming at optimizing the organization efficiency.
- Provides an MIR perspective on the development and revision of SOPs Work Instructions and local Job Aids as necessary.
- Leads or supports audit and inspection preparation and readiness activities.
- Oversees resourcing of MIR projects to ensure subject expertise and skills align with project requirements.
- Gathers and analyzes metrics focused on MIR utilization and performance; develop compelling and insightful strategic recommendations for leadership and the team.
- Collaborates with Category Lead to assist in defining developing and delivering annual objectives and launch excellence activities for aligned therapy area(s) and deploy MIR resources to achieve agreed objectives in line with Global/US MIR strategies.
- Collaborates with Category Lead to help define therapy area strategy relating to digital delivery of MI Services in conjunction with MI digital strategy and Medical Affairs Omnichannel strategy. Works with MI Customer Experience and Operations to ensure the availability accuracy and maintenance of medical content on applicable digital platforms (MI medical and other selfservice platforms).
- Supports management to effectively prioritize business expenses.
External & Internal Stakeholder Engagement
- Drives awareness of MI content and channels through partnerships centered around customer access with external and internal stakeholders.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders and business partners with a view to identify and communicate the value ofMIR to the Pfizer business.
- Facilitates key scientific conventions/congresses participation as needed in meeting preparation activities management of MI booths during congresses and postcongress involvement with crossfunctional teams.
- Works collaboratively with Health Outcomes Research HEOR and Medical in the development and maintenance of formularyrelated documents in support of improving access to US Medicaid and managed care formularies
- Provides guidance for the appropriate use of scientific evidence by reviewing materials developed by external compendia (e.g. Medical Letter treatment guidelines etc.)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced scientific degree (PharmD MD PhD) required. Tertiary education with an appropriate life science major in combination with extensive relevant experience may also be considered
- More than 8 years experience in Clinical Practice Academia Pharmaceutical Industry and/or Drug Information.
- Demonstrates excellent collaboration interpersonal & relationship management skills with ability to influence and negotiate outcomes
- Ability to work in a virtual work environment
- Skilled at utilizing medical literature and drug information databases
- Proficient at critically evaluating literature /medical content and writing/summarizing/reviewing clinical and scientific data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates with pertinent industryrelated experience and/or postgraduate specialty/residency/fellowship and/or registration as a pharmacist are desirable
- Industry related Medical Information experience highly preferred
- Experience in working with MI systems used for information requests and content management and digital communication and omnichannel platforms highly desired
- Experience working in a multicultural environment with global business responsibilities preferred
- Knowledge of Legal and Regulatory environment and its impact on the pharmaceutical industry including provisions regarding scientific exchange is preferred
- Flexibility to work some early morning or late evening hours to accommodate global teleconferences/meetings.
- May require travel for local or internal stakeholder meetings or scientific congress support.
Work Location Assignment:Hybrid
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169700.00 to $282900.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
